To mark this landmark exhibition and support Factory International’s work, Ai has specially created a strictly limited edition of collectible button artworks.

Throughout his career, Ai Weiwei has elevated ordinary materials into powerful vehicles for reflection on memory, identity, labour and political history. The button occupies a particularly significant place within his practice, embodying both personal narratives of scarcity and resilience, and broader themes of industrial production, global exchange and human dignity. 

Created specially to celebrate Ai Weiwei: Button Up!, this new limited-edition porcelain work distils those ideas into a singular object, offering collectors the opportunity to acquire a work directly connected to the artist's ongoing exploration of material culture. 

Handmade in China from porcelain, Button is produced in a strictly limited edition of 25. The artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist and presented in bespoke packaging. Proceeds from all sales will be used to support Factory International’s charitable work, using arts and culture to drive positive social change.
